Meeting point:  carpark Koerbecker Weg, 59494 Soest-Hiddingsen, near restaurant "Zur Steinkiste"

                        (Google Maps coordinates: 51.537790, 8.114344)

In times of military use, tanks and other heavy equipment drove on the Kleiberg. Today, semi-wild cattle and horses graze in the species-rich landscape and the area is a habitat for rare animal and plant species such as the skylark, the red-backed shrike and the yellow-bellied toad. For the latter one, various conservation measures are being implemented within the framework of the LIFE Bovar amphibian conservation project, which will be presented on the excursion.
